Welcome to IEEMA

IEEMA is the apex association of manufacturers of electrical, industrial electronics and allied equipment in India. Founded in 1948, IEEMA is the first ISO certified industry association with encompassing the complete value chain in power generation, transmission and distribution equipment, including new and renewable energy.

IEEMA members contribute to more than 95% of the power equipment installed in India and represent a turnover of over USD 50 Billion. IEEMA has a PAN India presence with its corporate office at New Delhi, registered office at Mumbai, regional offices at Kolkata and Bangalore and eight state offices.

Formulating Indian Standards

IEEMA works closely with government agencies, utilities, standardisation bodies, research & development organisations and testing institutes
for formulating Indian standards for the electro-technical industry and developing energy efficient products.

Engaging with Government

IEEMA is the natural voice of Indian electrical industry and plays a crucial policy advocacy role with the government and its agencies. The product divisions and technical expertise helps in responding to the government on an ongoing basis.

IEEMA statistics and PV circulars

IEEMA has been compiling and disseminating detailed statistics of production / sales data for more than three decades which is used extensively by industry and others.

Promoting Quality, Productivity and Energy Benchmarks

IEEMA has initiated a number of programmes which are aimed at building capabilities of its members to improve quality, productivity and efficiency standards.

IEEMA Journal and Other Publications

IEEMA produces well researched publications and reports, including the IEEMA Journal – the leading electrical and electronics monthly in the country and the only ABC certified magazine in its league. IEEMA Journal and other publications provide technical and techno-commercial articles, industry information, statistics, business opportunities, etc.

Skill Development

IEEMA’s Power Skill Development Council is working on capacity building and up-gradation of member organisations towards global levels of excellence in order to encourage and implement modern quality tools and techniques.

Export Promotion

To promote exports from India, IEEMA organises high-level bilateral delegation visits and participation in exhibitions abroad. IEEMA also promotes global business dialogue through trade vehicles like Reverse Buyer – Seller meets and focused trade events to strengthen the export potential of IEEMA members.

Understanding and Articulating Members’ Needs

IEEMA is proactively engaged in the stakeholders’ consultations being undertaken by the Planning Commission for the 12th Five Year Plan. IEEMA, on behalf of industry, makes suggestions to Ministry of Finance and Central Board of Excise & Customs, Government of India, on the government’s fiscal & taxation policies and procedures, as part of pre-budget consultations between Industry and the Government.
