Indian power sector is experiencing fast changing dynamics. Conventional thermal generation has given way to renewables, particularly solar power. Transmission sector has been thrown open to private sector; grid is becoming more & more intelligent and Govt. focus is now on developing smart cities. However, past practice of integrated planning has been done away. In absence of reliable information on the emerging business scenario for the industry, need emerged from various stakeholders for conducting a Demand Assessment study for different industry segments under IEEMA. E&Y was appointed as the consultant for conducting this study. A Core Committee of Chairman/ Vice Chairman of various divisions was formed to guide the consultant.
