North East Region with reserves of 151.68 billion cubic natural gas is capable of generating 7500 MW for the next 10 years. Blessed with 864.78 million tons of coal, approximately 240 MW/day can be generated for a period of 100 years. Arunachal Pradesh alone has a hydro power potential of above 50,000 MV. In the T&D space the Govt. of India has approved 5,200 Cr under the North Eastern Region Power System Improvement Project (NERPSIP) for strengthening inter-state transmission & distribution system in 6 North Eastern States.

The ninth two day long International Conference on Electrical and Electronic insulating materials and systems INSULEC 2015 was organized at Hotel Holiday Inn, Mumbai on 22nd and 23rd January 2015.
With more than 165 registered delegates, INSULEC 2015 received an overwhelming response and was spearheaded with six technical sessions , paper presentation and discussions.
