The ninth two day long International Conference on Electrical and Electronic insulating materials and systems INSULEC 2015 was organized at Hotel Holiday Inn, Mumbai on 22nd and 23rd January 2015.
With more than 165 registered delegates, INSULEC 2015 received an overwhelming response and was spearheaded with six technical sessions , paper presentation and discussions. Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) organised a Seminar on Standardization, Certification & Quality Control of Distribution Transformers on 9th January at India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The seminar was supported by IEEMA, ITMA and ICAI. Mr. M.J.Joseph, Director General, BIS was the Chief Guest who emphasized on various aspects of standardization, Certification and also ensured about the speeding up of the process of issuing of License to Transformer Manufacturers.
The Seminar was organised to discuss about the revised version of IS 1180(Part-1):2014- Outdoor type, insulated liquid immersed Distribution Transformer upto and including 2500kVA, upto system voltage of 33kV which shall come for mandatory BIS certification into force w.e.f 1st of February, 2015.
