- PM’s twin focus on ‘Ease of living’ and ‘Ease of doing business’ has generated a host of opportunities for the Indian Electrical and allied electronics industry.
- From 2014-2021, Rs 12 lakh crore worth of investment in Urban Development projects like Smart city and 22% of the investment is coming from private sector.
- To strengthen the Urban Local bodies, Municipal bonds & green bonds have been introduced, they have made investment in city’s improvement attractive; even been subscribed by foreign firms.
- The One National Mobility Card introduced in India has made seamless travelling across the country.
- Some indigenization projects in response to ‘vocal4local’ and ‘local4global’
- Delhi Metro has developed automatic supervision system
- In last 4-4.5 years 1200 metro Coaches were manufactured in India as well as exported to Australia
- Automatic Fair collection system developed by BHEL is also introduced.
- Azadi Ka Mahotsav – 100th year of India will be very different in terms of development and technology. We will be self-reliant and would also be feeding the other nations too in terms of material and technology.
- We should focus on sustainable development, green hydrogen, EV supply Chain, Battery Storage. We should have energy efficient system and have zero carbon to save the country & climate.
- Electrical safety for the Housing is second focus where IEEMA can play a vital role.
- Amrit 2.0 initiative started by Govt on 1st Oct 2021 has several elements that will generate demand for the Indian Electrical sector
- Regional Rapid Transport is announced in 2019 and by Dec 2022 1st RRT of 17Km will be there.
- In metro, 150km in 27 cities construction is going on.

- Focus on energy Sourcing Planning
- Day time energy planning should be there as per the peak hours; Peak hours our basically from 5:30 Pm to 9:30 PM
- Awaiting the Electricity Act, DISCOMS will be privatised
- Focus on 12-14 hours battery storage usage; Subsidise the battery storage
- Future is clearly electrical and digital. The opportunities are ample in Renewable in terms of solar, wind, biomass, hydrogen etc.
- Chip manufacturing is going to be future in manufacturing in India.

- Focusing on Degree Cooling days
- By introducing innovative ideas in Infrastructure
- We should focus from Power to Quality of Power
- Renewable Energy has become the leader in size and efficiency in the Power sector.

- We are at the intersection of Digital & Electrical
- Focus on 3 Ds that people talk in transformation- Decarbonisation, Digitalization, Decentralisation. Decentralisation does not mean micro grids or mini grids or solar. But when these 3 come together we have better changes around us.
- Digital should not take our old systems and we speed them up. We should make more data points. Commodities can be easily standardised but few things cannot be standardised. Like in EV and Energy meter the govt focus is L1 where as it should have transformation. Today the electrical system is centralised.
- We have Power Purchase Agreement which helps in better rate of returns. We do not have dynamics in the systems.
- We should improve the efficiency, focus on the right time of generation, right type of generation, the location for generation etc.
- Introduce smart, resilient and robust systems. The systems are more over engineered in power system. We need to rethink about the robust system in the power systems.
- Synergy between operational technology(OT) and Information technology(IT) be there.
- Shifting to digital pumps, digital electricity and digital meters is required.
- We need to rethink the cost & benefits, better billing, load shifting, load management etc. We should focus on future grids.
- Focus on hardware + software + usability + end functionality
- Integrated packages to be introduced
- Govt should help the manufacturers by policy certainty.
- There should be coordination between Govt., manufacturers and regulators.
- We should not only focus on the smart way of delivery of energy/power whereas we should also focus on the smart way of using the power via using the smart electronics.
