IEEMA is a proud partner in the implementation of the Indian Electrical Equipment Industry Mission Plan 2012-2022 launched by the Department of Heavy Industry, Government of India, so that the industry can further accelerate its growth process and contribute significantly to reducing the power demand-supply gap in the country.
IEEMA proactively engaged in the stakeholders’ consultations undertaken by the Planning Commission for the formulation of the 12th Five Year Plan (2012-2017). IEEMA also actively participated in the various working groups / sub-groups set up by different Ministries of the Government of India for preparation of reports in their respective areas for the 12th Plan.
IEEMA has been regularly submitting industry’s feedback to the Department of Commerce and the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, on various issues including policy matters, export promotion, free trade agreements, etc. On behalf of the industry, IEEMA has been interacting with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Government of India, for resolution of problems faced by exporters / importers with regard to the foreign trade policy and also submitting suggestions for streamlining of the foreign trade procedures.
On behalf the industry, IEEMA has been taking up with the Ministry of Finance and the Central Board of Excise & Customs, Government of India, various suggestions on the government’s fiscal and taxation policies and procedures. IEEMA engages in pre-budget consultations with various government ministries and agencies and also submits detailed Pre-Budget Memorandums on direct and indirect taxes regularly to the government.
