A meeting was held between Mr. S.Suresh Kumar – Additional Chief Secretary – Power, Govt. of West Bengal and IEEMA to discuss about the various issues faced by the industries during this lockdown period and their recommendations on (1) Revision of PBG from 10% to 3% (2) Expediting the release of outstanding payments of the suppliers (3) To allow Price Variation Clause in Fixed Price Contracts. (4) Inclusion of COVID19 2nd Wave disturbance as one of the Force Majeure Clause for existing contracts. Webinar on hope faith and happiness on 15th May 2021.
Looking to the second wave of Covid being too brutal and detrimental to everyone’s happiness and mental health session on hope. faith and happiness was scheduled which helped members and their families to be motivated. Professor Ramesh K Arora was speaker of the session who has been a consultant and trainer in the fields of excellence in life and work, happiness, leadership and motivation for the past three decades and has lectured in International organisations. Prof. Arora has received the prestigious Paul Appleby Award for his significant contribution to the discipline and profession of Public Administration.
Webinar on Resurgence of Covid 19 and how to fight against Covid-19 on 24th May 2021.
Two interesting sessions back to back on Covid 19 were held on 24th May. 2021.The first session was by Mr. T.V Mohandas Pai ,Padma Shri Awardee, Chairman of Manipal Global Education addressed on resurgence of Covid 19 and as how the Industry can reinvent itself to boost economic growth and recovery. He emphasized on the immediate need for digitisation.
The second session was addressed by Dr. Hemant P Thacker an M.D in Internal medicine and MRSH (London). He has been the Principal Investigator for numerous International and National Clinical trials and runs his own Research site which is audited and approved. Dr. Thacker has innumerable publications in indexed journals and has contributed many chapters to the API textbook of post-graduate medicine. He shared his views and thoughts on the fight against covid-19 in India

A web interaction was organised with Officials of Belenergo, Belarus for IEEMA International Business Division Core Committee on 2nd April 2021. Ms. Bhavika Mangalanandan, Head of Chancery, Embassy of India, Minsk, Belarus was instrumental in bringing this connect. Belenergo, Belarus is the umbrella organization to which all power, energy, transmission, distribution companies of the country and of the states are affiliated to. All power equipment manufacturers and distributors are also affiliated to Belenergo.

The objective of this interaction was to establish a connection with the Indian Embassy Officials in Belarus, brief them about IEEMA and its the ongoing activities and to collaborate on future endeavours.

An interaction was held on 12.01.21 between the IEEMA Eastern Region Office bearers and Professor Siddhartha Das, Managing Director – Science and Technology Entrepreneurs’ Park (STEP) & Professor, Dept. of Metallurgical & Materials Engineering – Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. The purpose of the interaction was to collaborate with IIT, Kharagpur for joint research, their “LAB to Market Initiative” and working with the start-ups and also getting associated with them for their skill development program and seminars.

IEEMA organised an interactive session with M Shenbagam, CEO TP Central Odisha Distribution Ltd with Mr Puneet Munjal , CFO,TPCODL ,Mr Anil Saboo ,President –IEEMA welcomed to the official of TPCODL moderated by Mr Jitendra Mohan Gupta, Convener Odisha , Mr Sunil Misra, DG –IEEMA explained the role of ieema played at the crucial time of cyclone “FANI”. Mr M Shenbagam explained about the projects of Odisha. Mr J M Gupta asked to CEO how they will get benefit from ieema members. Some questions were also asked by the members regarding T&D losses and how TPCODL takes the precautions, EV charging infrastructure set up, net meter billing from roof top solar .CEO answered that for T&D losses will be brought down by technology, for EV charging infrastructure discussion is going on with the Government, about the net metering for residents customers they are planning to do. The session was fruitful.
