ELECRAMA 2020 overseas promotion was initiated in right earnest by organising Doing Business with India networking session on the side-lines of Middle East Electricity exhibition in Dubai during 5-7th March 2019. IEEMA delegation led by Mr Anil Saboo, Chairman, ELECRAMA 2020, Mr Vipul Ray, Vice President, IEEMA and Mr Ajay Mahajan, Head – Trade Fairs, IEEMA visited MEE which is one of the largest show on Power and served as a perfect launch pad with its large exhibitor base mostly from Europe and UK and USA. The target audience comprised only of foreign exhibitors who have hitherto never participated in ELECRAMA. Apart from individual exhibitors, the Pavilion organisors of Hungary, Romania, Turkey, Czech Republic and Russia were present. Mr Vipul Ray, Vice President, IEEMA welcomed Mr Rahul Srivastava, Counsellor Commerce and highlighted the immense opportunity to do business in India from a pin to the biggest electrical equipment.Counsellor Commerce espoused the case of India as a business destination and shared important figures on GDP and consistent growth rate of 7% p.a, significant improvement in Ease of Doing Business ranking; presence of consumption hungry young population; key highlights of Make In India initiatives; growing success in terms of increasing FDI and India’s march on improvement in many indices. Presenting ELECRAMA 2020 as a global platform to enter the Indian electrical sector, Chairman, Mr Anil Saboo spoke about the key features of the world’s largest standalone electricals exhibition. He specifically underlined the massive scale in terms of 1150 exhibitors in the last edition of which 850 were Indian and rest foreign exhibitors; approx 300,000 footfalls, visitors from 50 countries; presence of entire spectrum of stakeholders – govt, utilities, EPC, vendors and contractors, user industry, academia etc.
